Terms of Sale
These terms apply when you buy something from Hitt Kitchen. They are meant to be read, so they are short and in plain English.
Who you are buying from
Hitt Kitchen is a trade name of Extant 2000 LLC, a Virginia limited liability company. When these terms say “we” or “us,” they mean Extant 2000 LLC.

Where we sell
We sell and ship only within the United States. We cannot accept orders from outside the US.
Food, allergens, and storage
We make preserved food by hand in small batches. Read the jar. The label on the jar — not this website — is the authoritative description of what is in the food you received. We do not offer a product for sale until its ingredient list, allergen statement, and net weight are finalised, and checkout will refuse any product that is not yet labelled.
Some of our products contain egg, a major food allergen. Our kitchen handles multiple ingredients, and we cannot guarantee that any product is free of trace allergens. If you have a food allergy, email us before you order at hello@hittkitchen.com and we will tell you exactly what is in a given batch.
Follow the storage and refrigerate-after-opening instructions on the jar. We are not responsible for food that has been stored contrary to its label.
Nothing we sell is intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease, and we make no claim that it is nutritionally beneficial.
Orders and prices
Prices are in US dollars. Sales tax is calculated automatically at checkout based on where your order goes.
Placing an order is an offer to buy. Your order is accepted when we send you a confirmation. We may decline or cancel an order — for example if an item is out of stock, a price was listed in error, or we cannot safely fill it — and if we do, we will refund you in full.
We do not currently charge a separate shipping fee. The total shown at checkout is what you pay.
Payment
Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe directly and never pass through our servers. Every purchase is a one-time payment — we do not run subscriptions, and nothing here renews automatically.
Shipping and local pickup
Shipping. We ship to US addresses. We will email you when your order goes out. Once a carrier has your package, delivery timing is in their hands, though we will help you chase anything that goes missing.
Local pickup. Local pickup is free. We will email you the pickup address and available times after you check out.
If something is wrong with your order
Because this is food, we cannot take back a jar that has left us and is undamaged. That is a food-safety rule, not a sales tactic.
But if your order arrives broken, spoiled, or simply wrong, email hello@hittkitchen.com within 7 days of receiving it, with a photo if you can, and we will replace it or refund it — your choice. If an order never arrives, tell us and we will make it right.
Nothing in this section limits any right you have under your state's consumer protection law.
Using this website
The recipes, photographs, and text on this site belong to us. You are welcome to cook from the recipes and to share a link. Please do not republish the content as your own or scrape the site.
The legal necessities
We warrant that our food is prepared and labelled in accordance with applicable law. Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows, we sell our products “as is” and disclaim other implied warranties.
To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any order is limited to what you paid for it. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud — and no term here asks you to give up a right you cannot give up.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts sitting in Fairfax County, Virginia.
Changes
We may update these terms. The version in force for your order is the one published when you placed it, and the date at the top tells you when this version took effect.
