Privacy Policy
Hitt Kitchen is a small operation. We collect what we need to take your order, make your jars, and get them to you — and not much else. This page says exactly what that is.

What we collect when you order
We do not have accounts and we do not ask you to make a password. The only personal information we collect is what you enter to complete a purchase:
- your name;
- your email address;
- your phone number;
- your shipping and billing address; and
- what you ordered and what you paid.
We never see your card number. Payments run through Stripe, which collects and processes your card details directly. Those details do not pass through, and are not stored on, our servers.
Your shopping basket
Your basket is kept in your own browser's local storage under the name
hk_cart. It stays on your device and is not sent to us until you
go to checkout. Clearing your browser storage empties it.
Analytics, and the cookies we don't use
This site sets no cookies. We use Pulse, our own analytics software, running on our own servers — not Google Analytics and not a third-party tracker. It records the page you viewed, the page that referred you, your screen size, and your browser language. It sets no cookie, stores no identifier on your device, and does not follow you to other websites. That is why you are not being asked to dismiss a consent banner.
Turning analytics off. Pulse checks your browser's local
storage for a key named pulse-do-not-track before it records
anything. Set it and Pulse will ignore you entirely. In your browser's
developer console:

That is the only thing we read from your browser's storage for analytics, and it exists solely so you can say no.
Who else sees your information
We share your information with these companies, only so we can fill your order:
- Stripe — processes your payment and collects your card details.
- Our own systems — your name, email, phone, address, and order are recorded in the customer and bookkeeping systems that Extant 2000 LLC runs for its own businesses. These are ours; they are not a third-party service.
- Shipping carriers — your name and address, when we ship you a package.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We will disclose information if the law requires it of us, and we will tell you if we are permitted to.
How long we keep it
We keep order and payment records for as long as tax and business-records law requires us to. Ask us to delete anything we are not required to keep and we will.
Your choices
Email hello@hittkitchen.com and we will, within a reasonable time and at no charge:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you;
- correct it if it is wrong;
- delete what we are not legally required to keep; and
- send you a copy of it.
We offer these regardless of which state you live in and regardless of whether a privacy statute happens to apply to a business our size.
Security, and what happens if we get it wrong
The site is served over HTTPS and card data never reaches us. No system is perfect. If personal information of Virginia residents is exposed in a breach, we will notify affected people and the Office of the Attorney General as required by Va. Code § 18.2-186.6, without unreasonable delay.
Children
This is a shop for grown-ups buying groceries. It is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, write to us and we will delete it.
Where we sell
We sell and ship only within the United States. We do not knowingly collect personal information from people outside the US.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. If a change materially affects information we already hold about you, we will email you.
